My work instructing people in voice and speech is a process of proper diagnosis of one’s individual strengths and weaknesses. After that, applied instruction revolving around these areas is given.
There are numerous facets to the development of proper vocal technique and presentation skills. The study of phonation, placement, articulation, and inflection are needed. Also, a basic understanding of how to apply theater techniques and rhetoric are essential.
There are very few parts of creation as beautiful and delicately designed as the human singing voice. The study of voice invites the student to move beyond the speaking tones into the remarkable world of sustained sound. Understanding the voice as an instrument, with distinct parts all working effortlessly together to create continuous tone, is something I delight in over and over in my work. The temporal miracle of singing and all that goes into its formation is my privilege to share with my students and classes.
Throughout the years, numerous organizations, corporations, government and private groups have learned from my presentations in the below specialties.Besides working as a “Speaker by Request” for the Guthrie Theater, I self-contract my presentations through Holly-Co productions.
